Comment:
Plasmodium vivax female gametocyte (macrogametocyte ) in thin film - round or oval homogeneous cytoplasm with delicate light brown pigment round periphery and eccentric compact chromatin filling an enlarged red cell which has Schuffner's dots. The cytoplasm of the female gametocyte is darker than the male which has pink to purple chromatin fibrils surrounded by a pale halo and then blue cytoplasm and abundant brown granules throughout.
